Patchwork & Quilting
You can down load our full brochure with the work shop dates and booking form on the link at the bottom of the page.
We have done it!
The new shop is up and running and the Autumn Brochure is done. Phew, lots of hard
work but well worth it.
Have you been in to have a look yet? We are very proud of our new home at 56 Fore
Street; it is so light and bright and BIG. If you would have seen what it looked like before
when it was a pub, you wouldn’t have thought it could be made to look like it does now.
The landlord had the vision and the builder made it all happen.
To show off all the samples of all the workshops and courses for the Autumn, we will
have an Open Day on Saturday August 25th. Most of our tutors will be here with
all samples of their work on show and they can tell you all you want to know about what
they are going to teach. At the same time you can sign up for your favourite ones.
Not to be missed.
Of course there will be lots of projects for Christmas (sorry, but it has to be mentioned at
some point), like a large Table Topper, a Nutcracker Doll, a Christmas Tree Box, a
Wallhanging made with felt, a modern style Table Runner featuring mittens and the
most adorable wall decoration called Rudy.
But there will be other projects to look forward to. Ever seen the Two for One quilt with
Ruth? You make one large quilt and with the leftovers you can make another lap sized
quilt. A very quick way to get two quilts, maybe as Christmas presents?
Then we have a very pretty apron, wet-felted placemats and coasters with Jean Fenton, a
maxi dress, a messenger bag with our new tutor Theresa and a quilt to celebrate our
move to this lovely shop, called 56 Fore Street.
And…. Erica (formerly Goodwyn) is back! She has found her Patchwork mojo again and
will be teaching a two day Free Motion Machine Quilting class. Everyone who knows
Erica will know that she is an expert in machine quilting and a very good teacher.
She will also be launching her new website soon to promote her Longarm Quilting
So get all those quilttops out of the cupboard where you put them to be quilted sometime
in the future and let Erica make them into a masterpiece with Longarm Quilting. Her
prices are very competitive and her work superb! Highly recommended.
On Sunday October 21st we are organising a coach trip to the Malvern Autumn Quilt
Show. Last year it was a great success and we have been asked to do it again.
This show is not as big and busy as the Spring show but well worth going to see. There is
enough time to look at all the beautiful quilts AND time to shop. A nice day out with a
coffee stop at the Gloucester Services, which is a treat in itself.
If you are interested in coming with us, please let us know as soon as possible. We will
put your name on the list and when we have more information we will get in touch.
We wish you all a continued nice Summer and are looking forward to seeing you on our
Open Day or for one of our classes or courses.
With kindest regards from Myriam and Sunny, the Material Girls.
