Description
The much anticipated pattern for our popular quilted jacket is here!
This jacket first made an appearance on the Great British Sewing Bee and instantly we fell in love. A wearable quilt! This was right up our street. They only used 5 different fabrics and very simple quilting so it didn’t take much to elevate it by using charmpacks and more exciting quilting techniques.
Our first quilted jacket was made from the Liberty range ‘Carnaby’. The jacket paired with a pair of jeans and a simple white top quickly became a favourite outfit. It received many compliments and questions about classes so we started running it as a course soon after. Fast forward 3 years, many sold out classes and having made 3 more jackets myself, we have arrived here; a pattern to sell.
We will still be running it as a course because some people learn better by being shown in person but for those who can’t make our classes, don’t work well in a class environment or are confident enough to go it by themselves, we have created this easy-to-follow pattern. It has step-by-step instructions with photos to help you through the whole process. Having taught it as a class so many times, we know the pitfalls and share our hints and tips along the way. The pattern comes in UK size 10 to 20 but it is easy to reduce or increase the sizes so don’t think this pattern isn’t for you if you’re outside of the printed sizes. You can always come to a Sew Sisters sessions if you need any help drafting your size or with the sewing.
