Discover the joy of curved English paper-piecing with this beautiful pincushion project. Use the pre-cut templates to glue-baste each shape before hand-sewing them together and appliquéing them onto a background square before quilting.
This large pincushion is nice and deep so will hold your pins securely, and is made in co-ordinating floral prints from Liberty, backed onto a blue Ramie linen.
This kit includes all the fabric you need, plus a square of wadding and pre-cut paper templates. You will also need a temporary glue pen, thread for sewing and quilting, and filling – I use crushed walnut shells, that not only give added weight to your pincushion, but also act as an abrasive so keep your pins nice and sharp. Note this pincushion will need approx a 400g bag. You can also use toy stuffing.
Finished size approx.: 5.5″ x 2″
